Before knowing the impact, you guys must know what is fast fashion and why we need to learn about it. Instead of being curious, let’s discuss it!

So, what is fast fashion? Fast fashion is cheap, fast, and trendy clothing. Commonly, this type of clothing comes from the sample that many celebrities’ cultures have. Then, many producers turn it into garments in high street stores to meet consumer demand. This idea is intending to get the newest styles on the market as fast as possible. So, shoppers can snap them up while fashion still at the top of their popularity. Then, they will be discarded after a few years. It causes a bad system of overproduction and overconsumption that has made fashion one of the world’s largest polluters in the world. Geez! After knowing what is fast fashion, it turns out that this phenomenon is very dangerous for our beloved earth. Do you guys have the same opinion as me?

It usually uses cheap textiles like polyester and its leather processing uses a lot of chemicals. This action resulting the fashion industry being the largest contributor to water pollution and global warming. Second, it is found that garment workers are working in dangerous environments with low salary and without basic human rights. Third, the impacts are not only affecting humans but also animals. Toxic dyes are polluting the ocean. Additionally, there’s still a lot of real fur being produced in terrible conditions at fur farms, so it is cheaper to produce and buy fake fur! Last but not least, the speed of production time makes us believe that we need to shop more to stay on top of trends, creating a persistent feeling of need and ultimate dissatisfaction.

So, what do you guys think about it? Do you still think it’s okay? Anyway, it doesn’t mean that you can’t buy clothes from your favorite brands anymore. You can help the earth by doing these easy ways. What can you do? First, buy less. It doesn’t mean that you can only have one or two clothes, but try not to be a lavish person! And the last thing is to wear your clothes until they are no longer suitable for use. Maybe these are trivial things, but the impact of doing these is huge.
