Myth or Fact: Indonesia

Hello, P-assengers! Back again with PIDAS81. How are you all? I hope you are happy and healthy. In this article, we will discuss the myths that are still often believed in Indonesia. By the way, do you guys believe in myths? It’s okay if you believe in myths but doesn’t believe the scathe myth. Some “myths” can be true, but some are false, and there are myths that are not yet known to be true. There are many myths in Indonesia. And on this occasion, we will discuss some of the most widely believed myths in Indonesia.

Let’s start with “Eating carrots sharpen your eyesight.” Have you ever been told by your parents to eat carrots often so that your eyes are healthier?  Actually, that’s true. Carrots are included as a nutritional food because they contain vitamin A which is beneficial for eyesight. However, you have to eat a lot of carrots to get any real benefits. But, it’s true.

The next myth is “Apply toothpaste when you have burns” Unfortunately, this is not true. This action is wrong. Applying toothpaste to the burn can irritate or make the wound worse. First aid for burns is to cool the injured area by running clean water for about 15-20 minutes.

Next is “Eating eggs makes acne” talk like, “Be careful, don’t eat a lot of eggs, you’ll get acne!” is a fake myth about health that should not be believed. Eggs are nutritious foods that contain protein, omega-3, vitamins, and antioxidants.

Last but not least, there must be “Sitting on the pillow makes your butt boil” The fact is that so far, there is no research/medical evidence that supports this assumption. But, it can still make you grow boils or pimples, but on your face. How? The reason is that if you sit on the pillow that you usually use for sleep, the bacteria from your pants could transfer to the pillow. Well, that’s where you can boil.

In fact, there are many other myths. I will not discuss these myths because they are related to religion or do not make sense at all. That’s all from PIDAS in this article. I hope it’s helpful and see you again in the upcoming article. Goodbye! Have a nice day!
