Stress Language: A Way of Expressing Human Feelings

Hello, P-assengers! How’s your day going? May you always be happy, P-assengers. Have you ever heard about Love Language? It seems like everyone already knows, right? Love language refers to the way a person prefers to express their love to another person they love. It can be for their family, friends, and even more special ones. So now, what’s stress language?

As students who have a lot of tasks that we have to do, it is very normal if you feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and worried about any pressures that you have. It is very normal when you feel tired after a long busy day, but you still have to be stable to do the next task in that long queue, and it all makes you feel stressed. When you are stressed, there are many actions that you will do to express or get rid of that emotion.

Stress is a human phenomenon that can be encountered in everyday situations. It is unavoidable and therefore, we cannot avoid it, whether we like it or not. Stress is a perception we hold about ourselves and the world surrounding us, and both effects can be managed to reduce its unwanted side effects and, instead, to make it a source of challenge. Stress language is a person’s behavior to express their emotions and annoyance. The concept of stress language was created by health expert Chantal Donnelly, as a way to explore our partner’s innate tendencies or behavioral patterns when they are in distress or overwhelmed.

Knowing your stress language will help you to recognize and overcome the stress you have. By understanding the form of stress language, you can more easily recognize and convey your feelings to the people closest to you. There are 5 stress languages that you can know to fix your day.

1. The Exploder
People with this stress language tend to show their frustration frankly, and everyone is wrong in their eyes. But they can also grumble about how they feel. They also might tell other people about their story, and ask them about their opinion.

2. The Imploder
A person who has this stress language often internalizes their stress and can become hopeless and helpless. They find it difficult to show how they feel, even if it’s just from facial expressions. They tend to want to hide from the outside world.

3. The Fixer
The fixer will jump into action and try to fix something when they are stressed, even when there is nothing to fix. They try to improve the relationship between themselves and something they feel is causing them stress.

4. The Denier
People in denial look like optimists who are blind to reality. They will avoid all the emotions by continuing to rely on positive thinking. They will say their denial with “I’m okay”.

5. The Numb-er
They will not show what they feel in front of others. They will keep it to themselves and use their way to solve it. The ways used are often the wrong ways such as gambling, getting drunk, and playing online games.

  • Oh how intriguing. If i might compare my self in the days when i felt stressed enough, i think i am the fixer and the denier. But when i felt stressed, im much more indulge with myself and after that i resolve myself with many more solutions to relieve my stress. Would like to know more articles like this !
